Unit 5 Happy Birthday
学生在前一节课已经学了有关的数字单词1-10和几个简单的礼物单词,进行了听说读写的基础训练,学会了问别人几岁的句子。本节课重点巧用书本的story的情景进行不同形式的反复巩固,内化,综合运用语言,完成学习任务。
课型:会话课(巩固, 对话交际,任务活动) 课时:第3课时(40minutes) 教学目标:
本节课要求学生继续巩固,熟练掌握并运用上节课所学的词汇和句型,学会用Look at the candles. How old are you? / How old is he? …..Yeah, that’s right.,谈论别人几岁的话题,培养学生热爱生活,乐于与人交谈的习惯,同时学会观察和记录生活点滴。
熟练运用的句型:How old is he/she? He/She is_eight__. How old are you? I am __nine_. 教学重点:理解本单元课文,能够正确的朗读课文并进行表演。 教学难点:能够仿照教师给出的句子写出几个送礼物给别人的句子。
Step 1: Warming up:
1. Let’s chant.(Read the letters from Aa-Oo.)

(学生反复这样说,一直全班的学生都说完为止。)
(设计意图:既可以复习数字单词,又可以热热身。为下一个环节做铺垫。) Step 2: Presentation
1. Introduction: (用幻灯片出示图片和问题) Ask and answer: 1) T: What’s this? S: It’s a candle. 2) T: What are they? S: They are candles. 3) T: What’s that? S: It’s a balloon.
4) T: What are those? S: They are balloons. How many balloons can you see? S: I can see six balloons. 5) T: What is it? S: It is a cookie. How many cookies can you see? S: One cookie.
6) T: What are these? S: They are cookies. How many cookies can you see? S: I can see 4 cookies. 7) T: Is this a present? S: Yes, it is.
8) T: Are they cookies? S: No, they aren’t. They are presents. 9) T: How old are you? S: I am nine.
How old is she? She’s ___. How old is he? He’s ____.
(设计意图:引导学生进行复习unit5的单词和句型,为下一个环节做铺垫。)
2. Teach the story.
1) 用幻灯片出示图片, 教“a birthday cake”的读音. T: What’s this? S: ….
T: Oh, it’s a birthday cake.(教a birthday cake 的读音。)...... 2) Listen to the song and sing it, then answer a question.
T: Today is Tony’s birthday. How old is Tony? Let’s listen to the song,then answer the question.OK?......
(设计意图:引出话题,引导学生通过这首歌来回答问题,并设计县念,为下一个环节做铺垫,激发学生想要了解这个故事的欲望。)
3). Show the questions about the story, and let the students watch the story, then teach the sentences:Look at the candles. Yeah, that’s right. a). How old is Tony?
b).How old is Jenny?

c). How old is Gogo?
(设计意图:带着问题观看动画视频,获取信息,核对自己的猜测。) 4). Students answer the questions, teacher shows the right answers.
5). 再次引导学生理解Look at the candles. …Yeah, that’s right.的含义和读音。 (设计意图:通过图片,引导学生理解句子含义,突破难点,为后面做好铺垫。) Step3: Practice
1. T: Now, let’s listen and watch it again. 2. 分角色朗读,教师纠音。
3. 4人一组角色朗读,练习表演课文。 4. 选几组上台表演。
(设计意图:通过模仿表演活动,培养学生自主合作学习的能力, 使学生觉得这节课很有趣与题目相符。)
Step 4: Extension
1) PPT出示整个故事。
T: Look at the whole story. What happen to Tony’s birthday party in the end ? 学生讨论:送什么礼物给Tony?
2) PPT出示要写的句子, 教师讲解,学生写句子。
T: Now we are Tony’s friends. What will you want to give him? Let’s write down the things. For example: The balloon is for you, Tony. The balloons are for you, Tony? 3) Let’s sing a birthday song for Tony. Step 5: Homework
1. 听录音,朗读课文。
