※教材分析※
This lesson is chosen from the writing part of the Book 8 Module 4. The topic of the writing task is about the students’ ideas on the statement “It would be much easier if everyone in the world just spoke English”. Through this lesson, the students can know how to give ideas about the given topic and how to organize the ideas into a complete composition. ※学情分析※
The teaching subjects are the students from Class Three, Senior Grade Two. Having learned English for 2 years, most of students can use simple English to express their own ideas in the writing. However, the English language competence of these students is still weak, especially in the English writing part. They are not good at giving their ideas in English writing properly and organizing their ideas. Therefore, the English writing teaching should begin with the simple materials. And the writing tasks are supposed to be higher than the students’ competence slightly so that the students can reach them. In order to arouse the enthusiasm of students, two pieces of courseware are prepared. One is made by PowerPoint; the other is made by Focusky(已上传到素材板块中). ※教学目标※ Knowledge aims:
Students can know the sentence patterns on how to give idea in English in writing:

Step 1 Lead-in
Ask students to look at the picture of the famous female anchor -- Liuxin and her short video to lead in the topic --writing about ideas.
Step 2 Pre-Writing
In this part，there are two questions to be solved: 1.How to give ideas about a topic in writing
Give students a short video and ask them to translate several Chinese sentences in the video to introduce the sentence patterns of giving ideas.

2. How to organize the ideas into a complete composition
(1)Ask students to look at a micro-class to figure out the structure of this kind of writing and choose one student to stick the cards of the structure on the blackboard.

(2) Ask students to analyze a sample according to the given structure.

Nowadays, the statement:“The senior high school students should surf the Internet.” arose people’s concern on the Internet. Some people consider it right. Others think that the senior high school students shouldn’t surf the Internet. In my opinion, the high school students should surf the Internet.
I have the following reasons. First of all, the students can get informed of current affairs at home and abroad through the Internet, which broadens their horizons. Besides, students can read e-books, learn foreign languages or even go to net-school. What’s more, it is so convenient and cheap to chat with friends or send e-mail to them on the Internet.
From what has been discussed above, the Internet does plays an important role in our life. I think the senior high school students should surf the Internet.

Step 3 While-Writing
1.Give the students the topic-- “It would be much easier if everyone in the world just spoke English” and ask them to talk about it and have a debate.
2.According to the given template and the debate, give students several minutes to write the composition. Divide the students into 4 groups, ask them to cooperate with each other in the group to finish one composition. And then have a competition among the four groups.
Step 4 Post-Writing
1.Ask each group to share their compositions.

2.Use mobile phone to take photos for students’ compositions and then send these photos to the whiteboard through the Wechat.
3. Ask some students to give marks for the compositions according to the given criteria. And then choose the best one among the four groups.

This lesson is based on the key competence of English. By finishing the main tasks of the lesson—skill-practising, the students are encouraged to extend their cultural consciousness. Through this lesson, the students’ thinking quality of English can be promoted and their learning abilities can be enhanced.
However, for these students, the English writing is still a difficult part. They can’t express their ideas in English writing properly. All these will limit the teaching in the class.
Therefore, the students’ writing strategies should be enhanced and their knowledge should be broadened.
