本课是出自人民教育出版社高二选修7第五单元里的一篇阅读课(Reading),在第一部分warming-up和pre-reading里面初步接触和学习了国外旅游的知识和
基础词汇,本节Reading是上部分的延伸。Reading讲了中国留学生谢蕾在伦敦生活学习情况,她如何客服困难,适应国外的生活和学习,并且通过参加俱乐部交朋友,这些都说明了主人公的坚强、独立和有决心的优秀性格,也很值得我们的学生学习和借鉴。

1.理解有关出国学习的知识,找出段落和文章的从属关系。
2.培养阅读时的联想、理解、前后联系的能力和逻辑分析能力。
3.阅读的同时也培养学生运用所学的词汇进行语言交际的能力。

当前随着经济的发展的文化的交流, 各国经济和文化等各方面的交流比较常见,出国旅游和学习已经是常见的事情,学生比较了解,身边甚至有出国学习
的学生和老师。课本内容接近学生生活,对学生有教育和学习意义,容易激发学生的学习热情,易于展开阅读和讨论。
