1. Students will develop the reading skills of skimming and scanning.
2. Students will be able to use the target language to solve problems.
3. Students will try to use their imagination to create their own life in the future.

1. Motivate students’ curiosity about life in the future.
2. Inspire students to contribute to a better future.
Teaching methods:
Student-centered, task-based, cooperative
Teaching and learning aids:
  PPT; the whiteboard; task papers
Teaching procedures     :   
Step 1  Leading-in
 Show students some pictures and a video clip to lead to the topic.
Step 2  While-reading
Task 1. skimming: skim to complete the main idea of the text
It’s about Li Qiang’s          to the future and his first               of the life in the future.
Task 2. Scanning: scan to match the main idea for each paragraph
P1              A. The journey in the time capsule.
P2            B. How I came to take a time travel journey.
P3-4            C. My impressions of life in 3008.       
Task 3.Careful reading
(1).Read paragraph 1 carefully to fill in the blanks.
