本单元的核心话题是谈论人的外表形象(look), 教材内容围绕着描述人的外貌特点展开,让学生学会谈论人的身高、体重、发型、面部特征及着装特点,本课为阅读课,引导学生在阅读中进一步完成对目标语言的感知,并通过一系列阅读任务的训练进一步提高学生使用所学语言描述人物外貌的语言技能,并将3a,3b内容的处理巧妙设计为阅读后的语言提升过程,为下一课时的写作训练课做好铺垫。
学情分析
1、通过以前对Section A 和Section B 1a-1e的学习,学生基本掌握了询问和从不同角度描述人物外貌的典型句型和重点词汇。
2、网络互动教学,一节课同时给不同学校的两个班学生授课,学生水平不一。
教学目标(含重、难点)
1.知识目标:
1).掌握下列单词和词组的意义及用法: interesting, police artist, draw a picture of the criminal, difficult, describe, differently, be of medium build, long straight brown hair, big eyes, curly blond hair, a short and heavy old man, handsome, wear glasses.
2).学会使用以下句型对人物外貌进行描述:
-- What does he/she look like? --He/She is tall and has long hair. He has long straight brown hair and big eyes.

3)能积极思维,运用所学句型,结合实际生活进行人物外貌描述。 3.情感态度目标:
1通过描述他人的外貌特点,简单地表达自己的观点或好恶,学会交换不同的看法,使学生在人际交往中学会尊重和理解别人。
2 能在小组活动中积极与他人合作,相互帮助,共同完成学习任务, 尽情享受学习的乐趣。

【设计意图】学生运用上节课所学内容,通过单词反义词,进行个人英语能力展示,引导其他同学复习上节课所学内容。能积极思维,运用所学句型,结合实际生活进行人物外貌描述。 Step2、Pre-reading
1、观看向警察描述外貌和穿着的视频,激发学生的学习兴趣,展开本节课的阅读教学。Watch a short movie, in the video, a woman’s car was stolen by the thief, so she called the police. Let’s see what happened. Pay more attention: what does the criminal look like? And who stole her car?
观看视频后,引导学生对视频中的人物进行描述,帮助学生联系旧知,引出新知。通过视频后的练习题,让学生感知police artist的工作内容,为阅读教学做好情境铺垫。
2、Guess what will be talked about in this article according to the title. And show a picture about a police artist. Eg. He is a police artist .His name is Joe Brown. He can draw a good picture of each criminal according to(根据)your descriptions.(描述)Do you want to know more about him ? Step3、While-reading Task1.Fast—reading
Read the article and then answer two questions: 1. What’s Joe Brown’s job? 2. Is his job sometimes difficult? Task2. Carefully-reading
Read paragraph 1 and fill in the blanks according to the mind-map, what does a police artist do? 引导学生对第一段进行认真阅读。Then let students read together.
Task3. Read paragraph2 and find the answers: Joe Brown’s job is sometimes difficult. Why? 然后,引导学生用文章信息完成一小段。
Task4. Read the article again , try to fill in the blanks. 教师引导学生对文中criminal的外貌描述认真阅读,并将不同的描述整理后完成表格。

既总结了各种职业名词,又对学生进行了情感教育。

在对学生的口头作文训练的基础上,针对How to describe my favorite friend列出四个步骤,对目标语言进行总结归纳。

教学反思
1. 整节课容量大,教学重点、难点突出,根据教材内容,合理恰当的使用了教学信息资源。 2.本校师生关系融洽;学生学习积极性较高,教学效果不错。但对远程学生只能进行简单问题的问答。
3.由于第一次尝试网络直播互动教学,时间把控有待改进,小组讨论的时间稍嫌短了些 ,最后的小结部分还可更完善些。
