Let’s watch a video, and find out how to use “can”
Several groups will be asked to express what they want to be and their reasons for the position.
Teaching procedures:
Now it’s the start of the new term. Have you choosed your new monitors. The students in our textbook are choosing their new monitors. Let’s read the passage together.
Step1: First, please read the passage quickly, and find out what Lingling, Tony, and Betty want to be and what they can do.

Step2: Read the passage carefully and tell us the reason why they want to be the class monitor, PE monitor and the Cleaning monitor

Step4: After reading this passage, let’s underline the correct words according to the passage.
How to choose your monitors
A good class monitor gets on well with (1) classmates / everybody and (2) promises / likes to help you.

Step3: After finishing the composition, students should exchange their compositions with their partners. The partners can circle their wrong language points and what they think improper.
Homework: The students rewrite the compositions according to their partner’s correction. The students will be required to hand in their homework before next class.
