教学目标
1. Knowledge objects :
1) Master the key words and expressions :

2) Improve the students’ ability of reading comprehension skills.

通过阅读训练,学会运用过去进行时态,谈论过去的事情。

通过本课的学习,培养学生在困难面前互帮互助的优良品质。
2教材分析
本单元讨论的话题是“学会谈论过去发生的事情” ,在本单元中,我们主要学习如何谈论important events and experiences. 话题内容对学生来说十分有意义,同时也很有实践性。通过对本单元话题的学习,同学们可以加强彼此间的交流,提高语言听说能力。本单元分为 Section A, Section B, Self Check 三个部分。本节课是以Do you remember what you were doing? 为话题,让学生谈话重大事件及自身感受,要求学生在读懂文章的同时,掌握一定的阅读技巧,并且灵活使用过去进行时。它是在听说的基础上,要求结合阅读训练,来继续学习过去进行的用法,强调语言的综合运用能力。
3学情分析
本单元的主题是谈论过去重大事件的发生,是学生感兴趣的话题,但是如何运用过去进行时态来谈论过去的事,这种综合语言的应用能力是学生极度欠缺的。通过文章的学习,学生在理解感悟的基础上进行模仿,综合运用目标语言是本课的难点。但是,现阶段的学生由于语言环境的欠缺,阅读理解能力的薄弱,导致他们在阅读课上提不起兴趣,甚至是畏惧。如何为学生营造一个轻松的阅读语言环境,激发学生的阅读欲望,增强学生综合语言运用能力是本节课的主要目标。在教学中,引导学生或创设一些情境,这样既能运用所学知识,联系生活实际,又能提高解决问题以及综合运用语言的能力。
4教学重难点
重点 :理解文章,完成各项阅读任务,学会用过去进行时谈论过去的事情。
难点 :灵活使用过去进行时态,谈论过去的事情。

Step1. Warming-up
Test the students’ memory
by showing the date: September 3 , 2015.
Invite the students guess what the important event is. Do they remember what they were doing at that time?
Enjoy the picture and try to think over what the event is.
通过呈现日期来回忆事件让学生进行记忆力比赛,为营造轻松地学习氛围,激发学生参与课堂的动力。
Step2. Pre-reading
Would you like to know some events in American history? What do you know about him or it?
Teach the new words.
Some students try to introduce him or it to us.
Follow the teacher to learn new words .
通过对新单词的教学,帮助学生排除阅读中的障碍。
Step3. While reading
Fast reading
Ask them to read the passage quickly.
Check their answers.
What’s the topic sentence(中心句) of the passage?
Divide(划分)this passage into two parts.
Careful reading
Ask them to read the
passage again ,but this time, they must read it carefully . Ask them to fill in the chart on the screen and check .
Read the passage quickly and find the answers .
Read the instructions first. Read the passage carefully and try to get the answers .
让学生对内容有所感知,学会阅读训练的泛读。
通过此环节,主要是让学生把握文章细节,目的是更深层次地理解语篇,获取文本信息并能正确输出。
Step4.
Post reading
Present the mind map of the passage on the blackboard to help the students to retell the passage.
Pairwork: Retelling the article.
Students follow the teacher to say out the key words and key sentences.
Prepare for retelling the article according to the mind map.
先让学生跟老师一起复述,树立自信。再让他们生生互助,概括全文,吃透教材,意在培养他们英语综合素质。
Step5. Enjoy the speech from Dr. Martin Luther King.
Play the speech.
Enjoy the famous speech,
让学生真实的感受名人的一些优秀品质的同时, 如何从自身出发来实现人生的价值。
