The pronunciation of “ secretary”. Teaching aids: PPT, tape-recorder. Teaching procedures: 1.Warm-up:
(1).Introduce myself to the students.
T: Would you please introduce you and your family for us? Eg: What does your father/ mother do? Where does he/she work? How does he/she go to work?
(2).Let’s relax. Ss sing: What do you want to do? 2.Presentation:
(1).Today is the career day. What do you want to be? Can you tell me your wish?
Ss: I want to be a.... (2).Sorting words:
There are many word babies. But they can’t find their way home. So they are crying. Can you help them? Job/place/hobby: Who lives here? (3).Guessing game: What does he/she do?
•T: They like helping people. They often help the people to find their way. They work in the police office or in the street. What do they do? Ss: Police officer.
T: If you like helping people, you can be a police officer.
•T: He likes science. He often does experiments. He works in a university. What does he do? Ss: Scientist.
T: If you like science, you can be a scientist.
•T: He likes sports. He is good at football. He teaches football. He works in a gym. What does he do? Ss: Coach.
T: If you like sports, you can be a coach.
•T: They like music. They can sing well. Many people like their songs. What do they do? Ss: Singer.
T: If you like singing, you can be a singer.
•Practice by yourselves:

T: If you can type quickly, you can be a secretary. Quickly means fast. (4).Read and write:
List five jobs. Compare with your partner. How many different jobs are there in both lists?
Ss read the first paragraph, and answer three questions: What does he like? Where is he going to work? What does he want to be? Ss read the other two paragraphs in the same way. Choose a title for the text. Fill in the table.
(5).At the Real World Camp, children can try to do different jobs. Do you want to go to the camp? Fill in the form. (6).Pronunciation: Listen and repeat.
