Teaching goals
1. Help Ss accumulate some useful expressions to describe theme parks and the activities in them.
2. Enable the students to know something about the various theme parks all over the world, to understand the difference between a theme park and a traditional park.
3. Get Ss learn how to introduce a theme park and how to study in groups.

Get Ss learn the three theme parks (Disneyland, Dollywood, Camelot) through autonomous reading and group cooperation.

Teaching procedures Pre-reading
1. Give Ss a few minutes to say something about parks by asking the following questions:
Have you ever been to any parks? What did you do there?
2. Show a video and some pictures of theme parks and get Ss to think about what is a theme park and what’s the difference between a theme park and a traditional park. Then, lead Ss to read the three theme parks presented in the text.
While-Reading
1. Fast-reading:enable Ss to grasp the structure and content of the text in general. (1)How many theme parks are mentioned in the passage? What are they? (2) What's the structure of the text?
(3) Where can we usually see this kind of writing? A. In a book. B. In a tour guidebook. C. In a newspaper.
Detailed-reading in groups : get Ss to read for more detailed information about Disneyland, Dollywood and Camelot and train their ability of cooperation as well as the ability of speaking, reading and communicating in English.
