教学目标
According to the new curriculum standard, the learning of English is not only a process of grasping linguistic
knowledge and improving the language skills, but also a process in which students broaden their horizons, enrich
their social experience, explore their thinking ability and improve their humanities. Thus I determine the following
instructional objectives:
★Cognition objectives:
1. The students shall learn about such expressions as source of information, be accessible to sb, sth
allow sb to do, etc.
2. The students shall learn some knowledge related to the development of the Internet and the WWW.
★Skill objectives:
1. The students shall develop their ability in reading for the main idea and specific information,
listening for details, and speaking with given information.
2. The students shall enhance their ability in paraphrasing sentences by using the expressions they
have grasped.
★Affective objectives:
The students shall take an interest in great inventions related to the Internet and show respect to those people who have made the progress possible, and be willing and determined to make contributions to the world like those great people.
2学情分析
My students are in the first year of high school. After two months of learning with me, they have gradually got
used to an all-English class, and I have seen a little progress, especially in their listening and reading skills.
Besides, they show great interest in English, and they are always willing to cooperate with the teacher and one
another. These are their strengths. But they have their weaknesses. They still haven’t formed the habit of
thinking and responding in English during the class and still find it hard to organize sentences, let alone
passages. As for the facts about the Internet, they actually know little about the development of it, although most
of them are skillful in using it.
3重点难点
Teaching focuses:(教学重点)
1. To let the students know about the Internet, the World Wide Web and the inventor of the WWW---Tim
Berners-Lee.
2. To improve the students’ skills in reading and listening for information.
Teaching challenges:(教学难点)
1. To instruct students to better understand a word, a phrase, or a sentence according to the context.
2. To help students consciously learn to express themselves in the English language.

4.1.1教学活动
活动1【导入】Introduction
Play a short video showing the wonderful modern life made possible by
the Internet.
Purpose: to arouse the students’ interest and introduce the topic.
活动2【讲授】Reading
Pre-reading
Free-talk: What do you usually do when you surf the Internet? What is the Internet?
Purpose: to encourage the students to think actively, and arouse their interest in the following
reading.
While-reading:
Skimming and scanning to find the main idea of the passage and the answers to two basic
questions: What is the Internet? What is the World Wide Web?
Careful reading to find detailed information about the development of the Internet and the WWW.
Purpose: to give the students a chance to use the techniques they know to solve specific problems.
Paraphrasing to understand the passage better.
Purpose: to encourage the students to think actively and express themselves freely.
Post-reading
Further consideration: What is the relationship between the Net and the Web?
Purpose: to encourage the students to think deeply and clarify misunderstanding.
Additional materials: Show the students a video to give a brief introduction of Tim Berners-Lee and
ask them to fill in some key facts.
Purpose: to inform the students of more facts, which will be useful for next activity.
活动3【活动】Consolidation
Dialogue: Divide the students in groups of four preparing for a dialogue---one talk show host, one
Tim Berners-Lee, one director and the other note-taker and idea-contributor.
Purpose: to let the students remember what great contribution Tim Berners-Lee has done to the
world and give them a chance to practice speaking English.

1. Surf the Internet to find more about people who have contributed to the development of the Internet.
2. Tell the story of Tim Berners-Lee and his great invention to people around you.

教学反思
英语新课程标准提出:英语学习并不仅仅是掌握语言知识、加强语言技能的过程,更是一个学生拓宽视野、丰富社会经验、开发思维能力和提高人文素养的过程。本模块主题是互联网和远程通讯(如手机,电脑等),是学生感兴趣的话题,通过模块众多环节活动的设计,内容涵盖了电脑各部分名称及相关用语、互联网对学生学习生活的影响、中国手机使用情况、手机短信等等,是学生所熟悉的。而Reading and Vocabulary这一部分,关于互联网和万维网的产生及发展,以及万维网的发明者Tim Berners-Lee,这些内容对于学生是陌生的,也是他们感兴趣的。通过本课学习,学生不仅可以学到一些相关的英语表达方式,增强语言能力,更能拓展知识面,为将来的跨文化交际打下坚实的基础。
关于教学目标:课前所设定的三维目标基本实现:学生学会使用source of information, be accessible to sb, sth allow sb to do等单词短语;习得了关于互联网和万维网的发展的知识;能够通过阅读寻找主题和细节、听音获取细节、用所给材料进行自主口语表达;能够尝试用熟悉的表达方式解读长难句;另外,通过本课的学习学生明显对网络发展产生了兴趣,对做出贡献的人物产生了敬意,从客观上帮助学生树立像这些伟大人物一样为世界的发展做出贡献的意愿和决心。
但是,对长难句的解读能力不是一天两天能够提高的,本课也发现这个问题,学生能理解句子的意思,但是由于词汇量和口语能力的限制,要用英语表达出来,对于高一的学生来说确实有困难,课堂学生所做的paraphrase也不能令人满意,时间关系也不能再进一步展开,这是这节课的一个遗憾,而这种能力需要很长的时间去增强,有待于进一步强化,好在这是我的课堂的常用的练习模式。
关于教学过程:在平日的教学中我尝试使用新的、不同于别人的教学方法,摸索对学生长远学习最有用的教学活动,学生经过两个多月的学习已经基本适应,因此课程进行得非常顺利。比如,在对重点生词和短语的讲解中,我用学生身边的例子,呈现词汇短语的用法,让学生在具体的语境下猜测其意义,在学生理解了以后,再创设语境,让学生使用该用法做句子。这种方法让学生对所学的知识的理解更直观透彻,并能举一反三,学会运用。这部分进行得很顺利,也达到了预期的效果。再比如对长难句的理解,我鼓励学生用简单的英语进行解释,而不是翻译成汉语。这种方法直接刺激学生英语思维和英语表达,长此以往学生的英语水平会有很大的提高。在本课我选择回答这两个长难句的是相对成绩比较好的学生,也是不够完美,我会考虑降低难度,尝试给出主要词汇或句式,让学生有抓手,进步会快一点。
另外,课文对互联网和万维网所下的定义,学生并不能很明确地知道两者的关系和区别,但是通过我给出的几组类比和图表,学生很直观轻松地明白了两者之间的关系,扫清了一个知识盲点。
关于教学效果:这节课学生一如既往地投入了极大的热情,积极参与话题,师生、生生互动,不仅掌握了一些新的语言知识、加强了语言技能,更拓宽了视野、开发了思维能力,提高了人文素养。最后根据课文和我所给的视频对Tim Berners-Lee进行采访这个活动环节,两组学生做的非常精彩,超出了我的预期,并且在下一节课还有两组学生认为自己准备得很好主动要求在班级做汇报。
我一直认为,一节课的成功与否,应该看对学生长远发展的影响,那么从这节课让学生产生的学习英语、学习相关学科知识、提高能力的热情来看,它就是成功的。但是实事求是地说,课堂进行过程中最大的困难来自学生由于对摄像头的不熟悉而产生的拘谨,当然我也是一样。不过这样的去上完一节课以后发现自己的一些问题,更有利于自己的提高。
