Lesson Overview:
1. It's the second period of the lesson. 1st period focuses on the introduction of the author and
basic comprehension of the story; 3rd period provides more opportunities for students to share their own writing.
2. It's a reading and creative writing combined literature class aiming to evoke students'
creativity by responding to the literary text in a more self-contained way rather than the more traditional way of mere comprehending content and appreciating style and composition.
3. The first half of the class focuses on detailed reading to draw attention to certain literary
techniques and the second half encourages students to brainstorm and to write cooperatively for the ending of the story based on the analysis in the previous part.
