The theme of this unit is how to describe a person in a personal letter, which includes two aspects: 1. the pattern of the personal letter 2. how to describe a person vividly.
Students should understand the pattern of the personal letters and the ways to describe a person by reading Shane’s letter. Also they have to master the skills by a series of practice. II Analysis of Students
Having studied English for many years, most students have no difficulty in writing a letter. But some of them may write a letter that lacks standardization. Besides, many students are always describing a person with some simple and common words. In other words, they don’t know how to describe a person vividly. III Design of Teaching Objectives

Reflection
This lesson has two important tasks: to master the pattern of the personal letter and to describe a person vividly. According to a series of activities, the students can achieve the goals basically. In addition, the atmosphere is pleasant by describing their head teacher and playing the guessing game. Also, they behave well in writing and show that they have grasped the key points in this lesson. On the other side, due to the substantial activities, the teacher should control the time reasonably in each step.
