Pre-task preparation  
 
1.Brainstorm: Ask students to talk about mass mediaand elicit the topic. 2.Look and learn: Show a newspaper to Ss and help them to learn some new words and phrases. 
To arouse Ss’ interests and elicit the topic. To help Ss gain some new words.       
 
While-task procedure    
1. Look, think and answer: AskSs to answer some questions according to the title,the introduction and the picture. To help Ss get the several elements of the text. 2. Skim and say: Ask Ss to skim the text and try to find out what they did at the meeting. 
To skim the text. 3. Read and complete.(Para.1-Para.5) a.Ask Ss to read and complete a table. 
b. Ask Ss to work in groups of three, discuss the answers. 
c. Check the answers with Ss. 
d. Ask some more questions about this part. 
To help Ss read this part in details,and to improve their ability of thinking. 
 
 
 
 
       4. Read, think and say. (Para.6-Para.8) a. Ask Ss to think about the things to be decided. b. Use a chart to help Ss generalize their decisions and the things to be decided. To help Ss get 
more information about the meeting. 5.Look and report. 
Ask Ss to work in groups and report the meeting according to the meeting minutes. 
To help Ss report the meeting. 
Post-task activities 
Discuss and say: Ask Ss to work in groups,hold a preparation meeting for their own newspapers and complete a table. 
To help Ss practice what they have learnt.   
Assignment 
1.Oral work: Listen and read the text for three times. 2.Written work : 
Write a short report about your own preparation meeting.
