Part1 Teaching Material
This is the second lesson in which students will learn how to describe
the
weather
using
“warm”,
“hot”, “raining”, “snowing” ,”sunny”, “windy”....and some
simple
sentences.
“It’s___today.” This lesson is related to the daily life, they will have high enthusiasm.
Part2 Teaching Objectives
Knowledge objective: Text learning: Words learning, warm,sunny, hot,
very,
windy,
season.....
As
well
as
the
target
sentences ”It’s___today.” etc.
Ability objective: After this lesson, students can describe the weather.
Emotion objective: students’ English learning interests and self-confidence are increased in the class. At the same time, cultivate their learning strategy and cooperative spirit. Part3 Key Points and Difficult Points
“Language is the most important communicative tool.” So the key point is how to use the target words and sentences to communicate. From my experience, the pupils here may have difficulty in text learning, so I consider this point as the difficult point. Part4 Teaching Methods and Teaching Aids
I adopt communicative teaching method and task-based text learning method in this lesson. I will use video, PPT, pictures, cards, objects and game player as an aid to mobilize students’ enthusiasm. Part5 Teaching Process(40’) Step 1 Organization & Warm-up.
Greeting then making groups. Sing a song.
Play a game.(look and say)
Purpose: Creat the English atmosphere. Let Ss to know me as a new teacher for them. The game is related to the following study which can make students feel relaxed, as well as leading students to today’s topic. Step 2 Lead in
“It’s___today.” Free talk.Guide Ss to say, It’s hot/cool/cold/warm today. Then let’s chant.
Purpose: Situational learning could improve students’ interest in learning English.
Step 3 Presentation & Practice --Guessing(review the sentences.) --Words learning(matching game)
--Listen, circle the words(weather related) Check the answers. --Text learning
--Key sentences learning
No1: It’s warm today, but it’s raining. No2:It’s hot and sunny today. No3: It’s cool and windy today. No4: It’s snowing. It’s very cold.
Activities and games will be used to practice the sentences.
Purpose: The activity is to develop students’ listening, reading and speaking skills.
Step 4 Consolidation & Extension --Practice sentences.(Games) --writing.
Purpose: The activity is for knowledge consolidation.
Step 5 Conclusion & Evaluation --Let’s enjoy the pictures.
Purpose: Value guiding is very essential for the pupils. Evaluation: The top group can get the presents.
Purpose: To stimulate students’ interest of learning English. Step 6 Homework
Draw a picture about your favorite season. Then practice the sentences.
Purpose: To continue their study from class to real life. That’s all. Thank you. Blackboard Writing:
