Teaching contents: Story time
Teaching aims and learning objectives:
Knowledge objects:
1. Students are able to understand the content of the story.
2. Students are able to understand and know the words and phrases: our dreams, want to be, a dentist, care about, an astronaut, a spaceship, the World Cup, a dancer, in the future, a writer, a pianist, a football player, come true. Ability objects:
1. To train students’ ability of speaking and writing. 2. To train students’ ability of working in groups. Emotional objects:
After learning this part, students can talk about their own dreams and try to make their dreams come true.
Teaching importance:
1. Students are able to understand the story and act it.
2. Students are able to understand and know the words and phrases: our dreams, want to be, a dentist, care about, an astronaut, a spaceship, the World Cup, a dancer, in the future, a writer, a pianist, a football player, come true.
Teaching difficulties:
1. Students can read the words and phrases correctly, such as “dentist, astronaut, pianist”.
2. Students are able to talk about their own dreams with the sentence: What do you want to be in the future? I want to be ....
Teaching methods:
Situational teaching method, communicative teaching method, and task-based language teaching.

Step 1 Warm-up
1. Greetings and lead-in
T: Good morning, boys and girls. Ss: Good morning, Miss Qiang.

( In this part, some words about the jobs which they have learned in Grade 5 can be reviewed. Besides, the new words can be presented, such as “astronaut, dancer, football player” ) Step 2 Pre-reading 1. Guessing game
T: When I was a child, I have a dream. I wanted to be a teacher in the future. Now my dream come true. I am a teacher now and I teach you English. Some of you shared with us his/her dream, let’s have a look. T: What’s his/her dream? Who is he/she?
( Students will be encouraged to guess according to the description of the dreams. Their curiosity of whose dream it is will increase their interest.) 2. Talk in pairs
