Lesson 12 A Visit to the Great Wall
一、学情分析
1、 单元及课文分析
本单元的日常生活用语主要围绕“Travel in Beijing”这一话题展开。教材为学生提供了Li Ming , Mrs. Li , Jenny and Danny 一起游览北京的天安门广场,故宫和长城,并且到王府井购物这些场景。帮助学生理解并掌握外出游玩和观赏时常用的英语表达方式。结合本课重点内容,我们应给学生创设游览和介绍长城这一情境,通过本课重点问题导入引导学生一起进入本课的学习。 2. 学生分析
五年级英语在小学英语教学中起着承上启下的作用, 既是四年级的衍生又是六年级的铺垫。学生已经接触英语三年,具备一定的听、说、读、写能力,他们中大部分同学热爱英语,并愿意积极表达,一小部分学生在学习中逐渐掉队,在保证大部分同学学习的基础上,也要关注学困生。
2、教学重点
(1)学生能够听懂并且理解这个简单的故事。 (2)学生可以根据故事进行简单的问答。 3、教学难点
(1)使学生能够正确理解故事。 (2)复述故事。
4、教学目标
语言知识与技能
(1)能听懂并读懂故事。
(2)朗读故事并在老师帮助下复述表演故事。 情感态度
(1)鼓励学生勇于尝试,尊重学生个性差异,让不同层次的学生从不同角度体验到英语学习成功的喜悦。
(2)了解景点知识的同时引导学生良好的文明行为习惯。 学习策略
通过创设情境并设疑来培养学生的阅读策略。 5. 教学准备
教师准备本课的单词和短语卡片、图片以及多媒体课件。
二、教学步骤
StepⅠ Class opening (3minutes) Free talk
1、Greeting to the students 2、Free talk
If you go on a trip to Beijing.Where do you want to go ? Why?
3.There are many famous places in China.But I want to visit the Great Wall. Do you want to go with me? Let’s watch a movie about it.
设计思路:通过对北京名胜古迹图片的回顾激活学生的原有知识,给学生营造了一个轻松愉悦的学习氛围,调动学生的旅游兴趣,引出本课主题。
StepⅡ Reading (35minutes) 1、Pre-reading:
Watch the movie about the Great Wall.
Teacher: I was shocked by the Great Wall.What do you think about the Great Wall? (板书long,big,beautiful,,领读,反复读,出示长城视频。)
设计思路:激活学生对长城的原有认知,为读故事做好铺垫,并复习与故事课相关的词汇。
2、Let’s discover the beauty of the Great Wall.Let’s invite our friends Danny ,Jenny and Li Ming,Let’s listen what they are talking about. Watch the video about the text.
Encourage students to make their own questions about the text.
设计思路:了解学生对课文第一部分的理解和掌握情况,指导学生观看视频边思考,在理解的基础上组织语言,初步掌握默读的阅读策略。
4.带着学生们提出的问题逐图分析课文内容。
Let the students read part2 and part 3,and then students give the answers: (1)What is the Chinese saying about the Great Wall?
(2)How old is the oldest part of the Great Wall? (出示PPT)
(3)Encourage students to read the sentences one by one, boys and girls.
(4) Watch the video about the Great Wall.Then we can know more about the Great Wall.
设计思路:寻读。在学生阅读前给出针对性的问题,让学生目的明确的进行阅读。 Read part4:
If we go to the Great Wall . We are the true man. Chairman Mao told us: He who does not go to the Great Wall is not a true man. Read the sentences .(one by one . group by group. )
设计思路:在默读寻读策略的形成基础上结合自己对事物的看法进行表达。 5, part5:
Danny said: Now I am a true man.I want to write on the Great Wall. Is Danny right?
How can we keep the Great Wall clean and beautiful?How to be a civilized tourist?Talk about the questions.(PPT展示)
Tips: Don’t litter. Don’t draw pictures on the wall. Don’t climb on the statue .
设计思路:将知识和生活紧密联系,通过阅读引导.引发学生的思考,培养他们良好的生活行为习惯。
6.Listen to the last sentence.It is an exclamation. Read in role.
设计思路:通过朗读,检验学生对课文理解和掌握情况,看学生能否生动活泼地表现出各角色应有的感情和表情等,以此培养学生的阅读理解和朗诵能力。
7.Read the text by themselves.Then fill in the blanks. ①Group work:
Talk about in your groups,fill in the blanks.

StepⅢ Summary
① Show a movie about Liu .She went to the Great Wall during the Spring Festival. Encourage students to act a tour guide and lead the tourists to visit the Great Wall. ② Practice in their group. Then encourage them to show the dialogue.(PPT展示)
Each group will show their work. A: Welcome to the Great Wall.
B: Wow,it is so long.How long is it? A: It's about 6000 kilometres. In China ,
we call the Great Wall “The-Ten-Thousand-Li Great Wall.” B:Do you know more interesting things about it?
A: Yes.He who does not go to the Great Wall is not a true man.
B:What a wonderful place to visit! We are lucky to see it. I love Beijing. I love China.
设计思路:梳理本课所学,鼓励学生勇于尝试,用口头和书面两种方式从不同的角度展示学生的学习收获,让不同层次的学生从不同角度体验到英语学习成功的喜悦,同时引导学生良好的文明行为习惯。 StepⅣ Class Closing (2minutes) Homework:
