I. An analysis of the teaching material.
This lesson is the writing part in Unit 8, Grade 8 from Go for It. In this lesson , it has two parts. The first one is a model text on gourmet
food---Yunnan Rice Noodles. From this step , students learn how to write this kind of article .The second part is to ask students to write their own article . From writing an article about delicious food , students will not only learn something about writing technique , but also learn to cooperate with others.
II. Analysis of the students:
Students have learned how to make some delicious food , so it is not very difficult for them to express how to make their favorite food . But their average English level is not very good. Most students have trouble in English writing. So I will pay attention to teaching students some writing strategies . .
III. Teaching Aims:
According to my understanding of the material and students, I set the following teaching aims:
1. Knowledge Aims
a. Knowing something about Yunnan Rice Noodles . b. Using first , next ,then, finally correctly . c .Working in groups to describe their favorite food
2. Ability Aims
a. To train students how to use the strategy of writing. b. To train students how to cooperate with others
3. Emotion Aims
Teach students to learn to share. IV. Teaching difficulties
1. How to write a recipe for their favorite food V. Teaching methods:
Task-based learning and Communicative Teaching & Learning. VI . Teaching aids:
computer ,music, pictures of food , blackboard. VII . Teaching procedures:
1. Lead in
Ask students to talk about the weather .Through weather , lead in my mood .then .tell students I want to share some delicious food with them . At last , let’s begin our gourmet travel .
【Purpose】From free talk ,lead in delicious food .
2. Pre-writing :
①Show a video about making a cake ,then let students ask and answer what do we need to make a cake .Then make a dialogue about self check 1 【Purpose】From the video ,lead in how to express quantity of things. ② Show some pictures about some eggs ,some tomatoes and a bowl of water ,ask students if we put these things together ,what can we get ? Then do self check 2
【Purpose】 Let students review first , next ,then, finally ③ Fill in the blanks
Let students complete the recipe for Yunnan Rice Noodles.Use the words and phrases in the box to help you.
Then draw a mind map about how to writc an article .
【Purpose】Teach students to learn how to make Yunnan Rice Noodles
3. While -writing.
①Show an example
In China , we have many kinds of delicious food ,do you know what kind of delicious food in Henan Province ?
Give students ingredients about Henan Stewed noodles and then teach them how to make it .
【Purpose】Show an example to teach them how to write a recipe. ②. Pair work
Work with the partner to write a recipe for their favorite food 【Purpose】Let students learn to cooperate with others.
4. Post -writing
Assessment
Please look at the form .Give your partner the proper mark . 1. Have a topic ,head, a complete main part and ending .( 1分) 2. Use words for sequence (such as, first , next , etc). ( 2分) 3. Spell words and use grammar properly .( 3分) 4. Use nice words and sentences. ( 2分) 5. Have beautiful handwriting .( 2分)

教学反思:
本节课为写作课,主要为两部分,一是教授学生如何在文章中表达最喜欢的美食,二是让学生通过小组合作写出他们最喜欢的食谱。刚开始通过视频导入做蛋糕需要的原材料,让学生复习如何表达所需物品的用量,然后通过鸡蛋汤,复习表示顺序的词语。在过桥米线文章中,通过思维导图,引导学生总结如何写作文。河南烩面的做法展示,同时又降低了学生的写作焦虑,有利于更好地完成写作任务。最后,让学生在课堂上进行限时写作,既能保证学生写作时间,又能提高写作效率,同时,学生完成后,进行展示,让学生根据《评价表》,
进行自查和互查,做到在互相学习中共同进步,达到了写作教学的目的。
