1) Status of the Students (学情分析)
This teaching plan is designed for Grade Eight (8年级) students. Three main characteristics of the students at this age are striking.
1 Games and competitions are their favorite ways of learning. Visual aid is important for their study too. Games, competitions and activities are designed to make sure students will have a fun time in this class.(他们对小组竞争感兴趣)
2 Some of them are quick learners while some are slow ones. So the teacher tries to use the hierarchical teaching method to help them from different levels.(学生的水平有分层)
3 Intentional memories are still their major way of learning. So this teaching plan pays a lot of attention to connecting the knowledge with their daily life and tries to use their intentional attention and involuntary attention effectively such as showing the pictures and playing games. (他们关注与生活相关的事物)
2) Description of the Text Book (材料分析)
1 This is the second period of Chapter 5, which is about the reading part “An exchange visit in educational and interesting”. (文章关于国外学生到中国交流的经历,非常有趣和具有教育意义)
2 Not only the difficult new words but also the connection between the text and the students’ daily life, especially for the basic learners. (难点在于怎样理解文化差异,和增进文化交流,继而增强学生名族自豪感,是本课的重点)
3) Teaching Aims (教学目标)
1 Knowledge (知识)
Students will be able to use the words and the phrases in the text; eg.educational, friendly , fantastic,etc.
Students will be able to understand the text well and find out detailed information
2 Learning Strategies (学习策略)
Students manage the pre-reading skill, intensive reading skill and the extensive
reading skill well and can conclude them in each relevant reading step.
3 Competences能力培养
Students will be able to learn individually as well as cooperatively;(小组合作)
Students will be able to learn how to raise questions and do a public report.

4 Emotional attitude and concept of value (情感与价值观)
学生能够通过学习文章中外国学生到国内进行教育交流的经验分享,增加自身民族自豪感,增强对文化的理解,继而成为中国文化的传播者。
4) The Key Points and Difficulties: (重难点)
1 Key Points: To understand the passage and manage the reading skills well;
To think about the beauty of things of our daily life.
2 Difficulties: To discuss the beauty of things in our daily life by using the Reasoning Chart;
To interview others and try to report others’ words
