四年级的孩子对英语学习有着很高的热情,他们热衷于对形象内容的学习,因此在整个教学中我通过大量形象的图示、视频、游戏等活动来引导学生进行学习。

用How many …are there?提问及用There is…或There are…回答。

4.1.1教学活动
活动1【导入】Ⅰ.Pre-task
1.Watch the video.
Review the sentences :There is … There are…
Lead in: What’s on the farm? There is/are…(sheep, horses, apples, pigs,eggs)
Use the first letter of each words to make a new word: shape.
活动2【讲授】Ⅱ.While-task 
1.T: Look! I have a pair of magic scissors.
I can use it to make different shapes.
Learn:circle.
Show the sun. Introduce: a circle. Practice to say: The sun is a circle.
Show some pictures. Look and say: …is a circle.
2.Learn: triangle
(Fold the circle, draw a line, cut it.)
T: What shape is it? Ss try to answer: It’s a triangle.
Show three cakes. Learn the new sentences: How many triangles are there?
Show some pictures. Look and count : How many …? There are…
Practice to say in groups.
3.Brain storm.
T: Let’s open the triangle. How many triangles? Ss count and say
T:What shape is it? Ss: It’s a square.
4.Learn: square.
Show some pictures. T: How many squares are there?
                    Ss: There are…
Lead in: There is … Practice to say.
Introduce another meaning of square: Tiananmen Square, Jiuzi Square.
 5.(Fold the square. Cut it in the middle)
   T: What shape is it?  Ss: It’s a rectangle.
Learn: rectangle
   Practice to say. Cut and count the rectangles.
6.(Show the rectangle, use the scissors to cut it. Make a star.)
Learn: star
Show one big star, four small stars, a big rectangle. Practice to say. How many stars are there? There is/are…
Use these things to make a flag. Ss look and read.
There is a big star. There are four small stars. There is a rectangle. It’s a flag.
7.Look and learn. Point and say the new words.
8.Ask and answer. How many … are there? There is/are…
Show the picture on P55.
活动3【活动】Ⅲ.Post-task
1.T: I want to make some pictures. I want more shapes. Magic Scissors ,where are you? I need your help.
Use the scissors to cut more shapes.
2.Use the shapes to make a tree.
T:How many … are there? There is a… There are… We can make a tree.
Ss look and say.
3.Show more pictures. Ss practice to say.
There is a… There are… We can make a ...
4.Ss cut and stick the picture in a group of 4.
5.Ss introduce the picture.
活动4【作业】Homework.
1.Read and copy the new words.
2. Use the shapes and draw a new picture,then try to introduce.
