Step 1: warming up: Lead in: Match the following two columns.
Step2: first pre-reading: Discuss the following question: Apart from that Bell invented the telephone. What else do you know about him?
Step 3: reading: 1.Get some general information of Bell.
2. Choose the best answer.
3. Answer the questions
Step 4: discussion: Do you think Leonardo da Vinci is really a good painter? What else do you know he is famous for?
Step 5: read the second passage and answer the questions. 1. Why did Leonardo need to design things for employer when he was such a great painter?
2. Why was Leonardo’s design different?
3. How did painting help him invent things?
Step6: discussion: 1. What common qualities do the two inventors share?
