介绍英国著名景点“巨石阵”,简单了解它的形状,谁建造了巨石阵,建造的原因,目的,及历史学家的对巨石阵不同的观点。通过阅读课文,激发学生对秘密勇于探索、认真分析的科学精神,培养学生正确的价值观。
二、教学目标 一 教学目标 1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下单词:UFO, alien, run after, suit, express, not only...but also..., circle, Britain, receive, leader, midsummer, medical, prevent, energy, position, burial, honor, ancestor, victory, enemy, period 2) 能掌握以下重难句子:
① For many years, historians believed Stonehenge was a temple where ancient leaders tried to communicate with the gods. ② The large stones were put together in a certain way.
③ As you walk there, you can feel the energy from your feet move up your body. 2. 情感态度价值观目标:
通过PPT和老师的引导,让学生学习有关英国巨石阵的知识,激发学生对“巨石阵之谜”的兴趣, 培养学生对事物的探索精神。不信谣,不传谣。

九、教学反思
本节课课堂反响不错。小组竞赛贯穿整节课,最后评选出最佳小组,学生们的参与、竞争意识很强,积极性很高。一开始我在Warming up部分组织学生观看了一个关于巨石阵的视频,调动了学生的学习热情和对巨石阵的兴趣 。skimming部分让学生找出关于巨石阵的信息,训练学生阅读的能力。Careful reading部分让学生总结各段的段意,使学习更理解了课文。Post-reading做练习。结合时事开展小组合作、探究,鼓励学生大胆开口说英语。课后安排学生将讨论的结果写一份报告,训练学生的写作能力。这节课也有不足之处。因为课文比较长,内容有点多又是科普性文章,留给学生朗读的时间不够充分。再者,在Discussion环节中学生的反应不太理想,积极踊跃表演的小组有限,由此可见,学生的英语表达能力有待进一步提高。
