Ⅰ、Teaching Aims and Demands: 1. Knowledge Objects:
Words: opinion, skill. Typical, cut out, quick, continue, compare …with, crazy, push, development, cause, usual. Structures:
The tired children don’t get home until after 7:00 pm.
Many of them are leaning exam skills so that they can get into a good high school and later a good university.
Although it’s normal to want successful children, it’s even more important to have happy children.
2. Ability Objects:
(1) Train students’ reading skill: guessing the meanings of new words from the context.
(2) Encourage students to talk about after-school activities and express their own opinions about them.
3. Moral Objects
Get students to know after-school classes have both advantages and disadvantages ,if we know clearly why we have them and choose the classes we like, they will be good for our development. 2学情分析
本课围绕“课外班”这一话题展开,非常贴近学生生活实际,同时八年级学生也具备了一定的英语表达能力,教师应该创设合适的活动以给学生充分的机会去表现。 Ⅱ、Teaching Key and Difficult Points 1. Learn to express one’s opinions.

设计意图: 通过观看学生排演的小品了解上补习班的目的,也就是第一段的主要内容.寓教于乐,同时,当学生知道他们的偶像也在上课外班来实现自己的梦想,就会对课外班有一个更深刻的认识,为实现本课的情感目标埋下伏笔。
2.Watch a video about 3 parents’ opinions of after-school classes.
设计意图:通过本班三位家长谈论自己对课外班的看法,在无形中向学生展示了文章后三段的重点句子。当学生看到自己的父母居然也能说一口流利的英语时,惊讶中更加深了对重点句子的印象。 Step 2: skimming
Skim the article and answer the questions in 2b. 设计意图:学生略读课文,了解写作意图。 Step 3: Guessing the Meaning
Teach students to guess the meaning of the new words according to context. Then finish 2c.
设计意图:掌握新的阅读技巧,提高阅读能力。同时学生利用猜词法自己习得了新单词,既有趣又提高了自学能力。 Step 4: scanning
Work out the main structure of the article.
设计意图:缕清文章的结构,提炼文章的主要内容。 Step 5: careful reading
Read each paragraph and learn the main sentence patterns.
设计意图:掌握重点句型,更好的理解文章。 Step 6 :summary
Summarize the useful structures to express one’s opinions.
设计意图:总结本节课所学的表达观点的常用语,为下一步的辩论会打好基础。 Step7: Let's debate!
设计意图:为了帮助学生掌握本节课的重点——学会表达观点,最适合的活动就是辩论会。课前我准备了一些谈论课外班的英语文章,提前发送到学生的pad上供他们参考,学生也可以上网查找不会的单词等.最后,利用云教学平台的点赞功能,选出获胜方,进行评价。充分利用现代化手段,降低活动难度并提高学生学习兴趣。 Step 8: Conclude the debate.
After-school classes have both advantages and disadvantages ,if we know clearly why we have them and choose the classes we like, they will be good for our development. Step 8:Homework:
