教材分析：每一个人都热爱自己的家乡。本课以“家乡”为主要题材，通过使用形容词比较级形式进行各类比较，开展“听说读写”活动。通过学习，学生能够由简及繁的逐渐感知新的语言，并通过范例学习介绍、比较不同地方。

教学目标：
1.理解本课关于两个城市对比的对话。
2.学习并熟练使用形容词比较级。
3.学情分析：八年级学生思维活跃,思路宽广,已具备一定的英语理解和语言组织能力,但仍有部分同学有欠缺,因此在学习过程中,应尽量让学生多说多听。另外一部分同学语法知识薄弱,运用能力不强,因此在教学过程中应多多练习形容词比较级的用法。
4.教学重难点：
教学重点:1.形容词比较级的用法。2.两个城市的对比英语说法。
教学难点:对一个城市进行描述并与另一个城市进行对比。
5.教具：Multi-media and blackboard
6.教学过程
活动1【导入】形容词比较级的复习
1.在屏幕上显示若干英语单词(形容词),找同学说出它们的比较级,并在屏幕上显示出由原级变成比较级的规律。
2.给出6个与比较级有关的汉语句子,每组完成一个汉译英。完成后每组派一名代表给出答案。
活动2【讲授】头脑风暴
教师向学生发问“Where is your home town?”What is your home town famous for?"找几名同学回答,后向同学介绍“Well, my home town is Yingkou,it's famous for the rice and the soybean sauce.”“So do you know what is be famous for?”It's 以……而著名"
活动3【活动】单词拼读
大屏幕上依次显示单词汉语含义,学生以拼读的方式反应。
活动4【活动】听录音并回答问题。
1.向学生依次展示上海金茂大厦和香港太平山的图片,向学生提问Do you know where is it?“
2.听录音前向学生在屏幕上展示问题

How high is Victoria Peak? It’s________meters high.

3.录音结束后进行语法训练

活动5【活动】课文听力训练
1.向学生展示课文录音,了解课文大意。
2.再听录音,要求学生划出含有形容词比较级的句子。
3.录音结束后,学生分组进行回答,并翻译句子。
4.找出所有有形容词比较级的句子后,学生齐读。
活动6【讲授】课文语法讲解
1.pretty good

活动7【活动】读课文
以齐读和分角色朗读的方式反复读课文。
活动8【活动】提问并回答问题
1.向学生展示问题:
Where is Shenzhen?-----It’s on the coast near Hong Kong.
Is Shenzhen newer than Hong Kong?---Yes, it is.
When did Shenzhen become important?----In the 1980s.
What’s the population of Shenzhen?---Over 10 million.
Where does Daming advise Tony to go? And why?---Diwang Tower. Because it is taller than many other buildings in Shenzhen.
2.学生分组回答问题。齐读答案。

给出一个深圳的图片,根据这个图片及所给单词或词组,小组讨论如何描述这个城市,然后分组找同学回答。

大屏幕上显示练习题,学生齐答。
活动11【作业】课后作业
Work in groups. Talk about the differences between Shenzhen and your home town. You can think about the location, the population, the history and some famous place. Write a passage about that.
活动12课后反思
本课为听说课,学生较多的参与到了听和说当中,能较好的完成听力训练和口语表达,完成了教学目标,对教学重难点也有了很好的训练。在未来的学习当中,应加强对学生语法的训练,更好的帮助学生学习英语。
