TYPE Reading and Writing
Analysis of the Teaching Material
The teaching material is selected from Module 7 Unit 2 of Grade Nine. The topic of this module is English for you and me, a theme that is close to students’ daily life and can be cultivated. In this lesson, the part of Reading and Writing is selected as the teaching material, in which knowledge about English development as well as related background knowledge are introduced. It provides a perspective for students to learn about how the world language formed, which serves as the foundation of other teaching contents of this module. The emphasis of this lesson is to guide the students to learn how to understand “world language”, and use the dialectical point view to think about the future of Chinese.
Analysis of the Students
Our students have mastered certain skills in English reading
and writing. They are familiar with the topic of English learning and accumulated some background knowledge about history of English. And they are eager to know more about English. They will be drived by curiosity to explore the unknown things. However, it’s a challenge for them to express by themselves because they are shy and afraid of making mistakes. They don’t have a solid foundation of related vocabulary. So in this lesson. I will create an environment to encourage the students to express and show themselves.
Analysis of the Teaching Aims and Demands 1.Knowledge:
1) Students are guide to master the meaning and pronunciation of
the important expression: achieve, including, secretary, quarter, Indian, type
2) Students are guided to understand the content of the lesson, catch

the central and detailed information of We all own English, and write their opinion about the future of Chinese according to the learning of this passage. 2. Ability
1) Students are expected to develop the reading skills of skimming and scanning.
2) Students are instructed to develop their ability of information gathering, comparing and analyzing as well as that of cohering, creating, organizing and making conclusions in writing.
3) Students are guide to how to process information and express themselves about the topic by means of English. 3.Emotion
1) Students are encouraged to recognize language is not stand by itself but mix different cultures and words from other language in the world.
2) Students are guided to learn the spirit of cooperation by participating in teamwork.
Analysis of the Important and Difficult Points
To achieve the aims of this lesson, some points are specially emphasized as the important and difficult points. 1. To lead the students to make use of related expressions flexibly to express themselves.
2. To imagine another language’s future according to the clue of this passage.
