To lead in the topic “April Fool’s
Day” and present the new words
(fool, costume, embarrassed)
Step 2. Pair work 1. Finish exercise 1a. 2. Ss use the words and phrases in 1a to share their stories with the partner. To help students to learn the nouns, verbs and adjectives.
To consolidate the words and develop their ability of working together. To encourage them to practice
their spoken English Step 3. Listening
1. Before listening, Ss learn to use the pictures to make a
prediction.
2. Listen and figure out who they are.
3. Listen again and write down the details.
4. Use the phrases they’ve heard to make up the story.
