本课选自PEP小学英语教材四年级上册第4单元A部分Let’s talk，本单元的主题是“My home”，谈论家里的居室及相关设施。Let’s talk部分学习的核心句型是：Where is she? Is she in the living room? Is she in the study? Yes, she is. No, she isn’t. She’s in the kitchen通过Sarah和Amy寻找猫的情境，让学生感知句型的语义及语用功能。

●本课设计按照“课堂交际化、交际活动化、活动任务化、任务真实化、学习生活化”的教学思想设计教学内容，突出课堂的四个核心，即“质与量，识与能，学与用，情与境”。
●本课设计以培养学生语言运用能力为宗旨，以学生为主体，以活动为主线，以任务为中心，结合学生的认知特点与能力，采用合作学习、情境教学和任务型教学等方法，利用声音，游戏和多媒体等图文并茂，灵活多样的教学方式，多重感官的刺激来充分调动学生积极参与活动。学生有一定的独立性和自主性，因此设计了一些符合学生兴趣、符合生活实际的任务型活动，培养学生进行合作学习、自主学习，为学生创设一个较真实的英语氛围，让学生自然地运用所学语言，发展学生的多元智能，培养用英语思维的能力，逐步形成综合语言的运用能力。
