Ⅰ、教材内容分析:
授课内容为普通高中课程实验教科书高二选修7,本单元的中心话题是济贫扶弱、志愿服务、合作共享。教学目的是让学生认识到社会上贫富、强弱的差异和帮助别人的意义,帮助学生树立同情弱者、救困济贫的思想。课文的学习强调略读,查读 ,训练学生通过寻找关键词等方式快速准确地确定文章大意,理清文章的总体框架。 Ⅱ、学情分析:
通过前面“热身”(Warming up)同学们已经讨论了平时帮助别人的方式。以及作为一名志愿者能够为社会为他人做哪些事情。学生已通过第一篇课文的学习了解了发展中国家巴布亚新几内亚农村的教育和生活状况,认识到发展中国家贫困地区人们的生活艰苦及孩子们缺乏缺衣少食,上学条件差。 Ⅲ、Teaching goals 教学目标 Teaching Goals:
1. To make students master the words and expressions about donating something.
2. To develop the students fast reading ability and writing ability. 3. To help students to learn about the educational and living conditions of some developing countries and develop their awareness of helping those in need.

1.Students look at some pictures about gifts and answer questions Have you ever sent gifts to others? Whom do you send to?
2. Show some cards to students.( cards for birthday. Wedding. Christmas and some other occasions) and emphasize the words in the card. 3. Show two pictures about children in developing countries and ask Ss to discuss the following questions. Would you like to sent gifts to them? What would you like to give?
设计思路:以讨论日常生活的话题入手,使导入部分具有“切入口小,切入主题快”的效果,上课开始就顺利切入主题,问答中包含了课文中的重要单词及短语,言语富有鼓励性和启发性,能使学生产生强烈的共鸣上,使课堂充满轻松和愉悦的气氛,为顺利开展之后的教学活动打下了基础。
Step 2. Pre-reading
1. Students guess the main idea of the passage according to the title, the first sentence in the first paragraph and two pictures.
The passage shows us a catalogue of gifts to give people in developing countries.
2. The reading skill for students
Sometimes we can predict the main idea of the passage by reading the Title, the main Sentence of the first paragraph , and also we can use the pictures.
设计思路:通过题目及文中的图片猜测文章的主旨大意是学生在学习第一篇课文时就强调的阅读方法,在这篇课文的学习中使用帮助学生进一步掌握阅读技巧,了解了文章的主旨大意额有利于学生更加顺利的完成快速阅读的学习任务。 Step 3. Reading
1. Make students know the passage is in the form of a page from the internet.
2. Lead students to divide the text into three parts Part1 a brief introduction Part2 a gift catalogue Part3 an attractive card
3. Ask one student to read the first part showing three questions on the screen.
What is the purpose of the internet page?
When you purchase a gift, you will be sent an attractive card. What occasions can you use the cards for?
设计思路: 听和读都是学生获取信息的有效途径。通过让学生边听边读可以培养其快速阅读的能力。通过有目的的听和读,让学生在了解课文大意的同时把握课文中一些细节性的内容。
4. Students scan the gift catalogue and answer questions as quickly as possible
How many gifts are listed?
In what kind of order are the gifts listed? What is the cheapest gift?
设计思路: 设置问题快速阅读培养学生快速获取有效信息的能力。 5. Students match the gift with the description.
设计思路: matching练习是让学生自学礼物的描述。一方面帮助学生理解礼物清单上这些礼物的用途,另一方面为下一项discussion学习任务的顺利完成打好语言基础。
6. Students read the third part together and fill in the chart and blanks. training in new agriculture methods Gifts:

设计思路:学生进一步学习对所赠物品的的描述,从点到面使学生建立了完整的知识体系。
7. Students watch a video about poor study conditions of children in our country. Then lead students to read words in the song—We are the world We are the world We are the children

设计思路:让学生更直观的了解贫困地区孩子们的生活和学习,视频和歌词能使学生产生强烈的情感共鸣,激发学生帮助这些孩子的热情。
Step 4. Discussion
Would you like to donate something to the children in poor areas? What can you do for them?
设计思路: 这一活动任务具有很大的开放性,既调动了学生的积极性和自主性,又有利于引导学生进行一次发散性思维,有利于锻炼学生的语言运用能力。 Step 5. Writing
1. Students write a letter to a child in the video.
