教学内容:Oxford English 8A Module 3 Unit6 Listening and Speaking: Gorkella’s visit to Shanghai 执教教师: 赖美萍 (南洋初级中学)
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
1.improve listening skills: predicting, sequencing and taking notes; 2.understand the gist of the listening material and describe it correctly; 3.improve communicative skills by making an interview in groups.
Teaching Procedures:
Stages Students’ learning activities Teaching purposes Pre-listening
Know about Gorkella. To introduce the main character Guess the reasons why she came to the Earth and the places she might went to.
To prepare students for the following tasks in terms of predicting and guessing Listening Listen for the first time. a) Catch the main idea. b) Tick the places.
To help Ss get a rough impression on Gorkella’s visit Listen for a second time. a) Order the pictures. b) Take notes.
To guide students to apply listening skills: sequencing and taking notes
Speaking
Retell Gorkella’s visit in Shanghai. To encourage Ss to describe the visit
Role play the reporter and the witness. To lead students to talk about the
special experience based on their
understanding
Make an interview in groups: a) Brainstorm; b) Interview and act out; c) Add a title.
To develop students’ ability of critical thinking and communicative skills Assignments
Finish the checklist. Make an oral report according to the interview.
