一、教学目标分析 1. 语言目标:
(1)重点词汇和短语:掌握下列重点词汇并将其运用于表达观点和意图:habitat, endanger, reserve, carpet, fur, mercy,contain, powerful,rub, mosquito,insect, appreciate, die out,in peace,in danger (of), protect...from,in relief, burst into laughter

T: The story always begin like this: Once upon a time, there was a little Mermaid living under the sea. So she asked: Can you name my friends?
设计意图:通过童话故事中的美人鱼导入,引起学生兴趣。并且整堂课都会与美人鱼的故事为线索贯穿始终。

设计意图:将海底各类生物以美人鱼朋友的身份通过视频呈现给学生,大家一起大声说出它们的英语名称 ,自然进入本节课的主题“A New Dimension of Life .”,激发学生想要继续学下去的兴趣。 Step2 Reading 1. Fast reading

设计意图:学生快速阅读,找出每段的关键词,理清文章脉络。 2. Detailed reading
T: From these topics, we can infer that the writer had a special day. Now let’s have a detailed reading to get more information. Please try to find the answers of these questions. You will have 4 minutes to do it.
1. What is the first thing he became aware of under the sea? 2.What did the shapes of corals look like? 3. What other creatures did he find?
4.Were there anything that made him feel frightened? What were they? (4 mins later)
T:So what is the first thing he became aware of under the sea? S: vivid colors T: what are these colors?
S: purples, reds, oranges, yellows, blues, greens.
T: what about the corals? What did the shapes of corals look like?
S: The corals were fantastic. They were shaped like fans, plates, brains, lace, mushrooms, lettuces, and the branches of trees and the horns of deer. 设计意图:学生在仔细阅读后找出文中四个问题的答案,对文章的细节信息掌握得更好后,为后面游戏时学生对于文章的信息输出做好准备。
Step 3 Guessing game
T: Now let’s play a guessing game. I’d like four students to come here and the other students should try to describe it by using the words from the text. Please guess the names of the following creatures(每个小组选一位同学上台背对屏幕,其他同学根据屏幕中呈现的海洋生物,用文中的话进行描述。上面的同学竞猜。) Picture1 anemone fish, little orange and white

T: Therefore, there are dangers as well as delights under the sea. Discuss and list the delights and dangers when snorkeling.
设计意图:这次的你说我猜游戏,意在考察学生读懂文章之后用文中的关键词句进行输出运用。为下文的写作做好准备。 Step 4 Writing
T: Just now we know there are dangers as well as delights under the sea, and have you ever had the feelings like this?

T: Suppose you were the mermaid. It's the first time you have been to the zoo. Write a short passage about your feelings on the paper by using the beautiful words and expressions. You will have 8 minutes to do it. Sample answer:

Today, I went to visit a zoo I had never been to. It was the most fantastic thing I have ever done. It is so different from my habitat that it seems like a place of pure magic. Seeing such extrordinary beauty, I think every cell in my body woke up. It was

I enjoyed myself very much in the zoo. The first thing I became aware of was all the lovely birds and animals, such as the eagle, the elephant and the monkey. Besides, I watched a horror film named Jurassic. Park. My heart beat wildly when seeing the dinosaurs attacking people who wanted to steal them. What a wonderful ,limitless world it was!
设计意图:让学生以美人鱼的身份结合今天所学写一篇日记,文中主要运用一些描述自己感受的词语。通过前文这些信息的反复输入,八分钟时间的输出训练也能够顺理成章。最后通过播放美人鱼录音的方式给出范例,让学生身临其境。
