How’s the weather? It’s sunny. What’s the weather like? It’s cloudy.

1. Master the key vocabulary.
2. Learn to talk about the weather using the target language. 3. Review of the Present Continuous Tense.
Teaching Difficulties:
1. Learn to talk about the weather using the target language; 2. Train students’ listening skills and communicative competence.
Teaching Methods:
Listening Pair work; Group work; Oral practice.
Teaching Procedures: Step1 Greeting:
Greet the whole class as usual.
Step2 Lead-in:
Enjoy a video about weather.
Step3. Presentation

1. (Show some pictures of the weather)
Let Ss look at the pictures and ask them how the weather is.
Ss learn the new words and target language with the help of the pictures. 2.Play a game “Fly Swatter”
3. Look at the pictures in 1a. Then read the new words on the right. Ask the Ss to match the words with pictures. 4. Pair work.
Step4 Listening
1. Learn the names of some cities.
2. Listen and write these city names in the boxes above 3. Play a game “I am a reporter” 4. Look at the pictures in 1a
5. Play the recording for the Ss and ask them to number the pictures [1-4]. Listen again.Match the names with the activities. 6.Pair work
7. Play a game “Tell the stories”
With the help of picture, get some Ss to tell the story of it.
Step5 Group work
1.Read 2d and answer the questions.
2.Work in groups and find out the important phrases in this dialogue 3. 3. Ask one group to present .
Step6 Exercise and Summary

Step7. Consolidation
1.Learn some weather idioms. 2.Watch a video about the earth.
Ask students :The earth is asking us for help,What should we do? 3.Watch a video about protecting the earth.
Make students know protecting the earth is protecting ourselves.
Step8 Homework
Listen to the weather report on the radio or on TV today, write down the weather in different cities .
