教学目标
1.knowledge aims: recognize and read the new words and phrases in the reading materials
2 ability aims:(1) develop the ability of fast reading and find the main ideas quickly from the beginning or the end of each paragraph
(2) develop the ability of guessing the meanings of new words and phrases according to the context
(3) learn to use the skills of scanning
3emotional aims: understand parents more according to standing in their shoes and think out a good way to balance the study and relaxation
2学情分析
1.the students in Grade eight have become more mature and quieter ,so they are more interested in some activities which can develop their mind.
2 the students have learnt some knowledge and develop some study strategies of their own ,so there is a big difference between them in study results
3 the students have the ability to master some abstract study methods.
3重点难点
1.the reading material is a little difficult to some students because it is too long and has some new words and phrases
2. the study and life of foreign students are strange to our students and it's hard for them to understand
3 it's hard and abstract to develop the reading skills and have one's own reading strategies

4.1.1教学活动
活动1【导入】why don`t you talk to your parents
1.ask students some questions about after-school classes and if they feel tired.
2.play a piece of music to students to make them relaxed.
(通过讨论课外补习课这个热门话题,让学生敞开心扉讨论自己的感受和观点,很多学生说自己感觉很辛苦,给学生播放一段瑜伽冥想的音乐让学生放松。让学生在放松的状态下进入学习状态,无形之中让学生感受到学习和放松需要一个平衡点。
活动2【活动】fast- reading
1.ask students to read paragraph 1 and 2 and get the main idea, give them 3 minutes
2.ask students to think and make a conclusion how to find the main idea quickly
3.ask students to read paragraph 3 and 4 and get the main idea as fast as possible
(让学生先读第1,2段用自己的方法找出这两段的中心思想,然后让学生自己总结如何去快速的找到中心思想。让学生能抓住开头,结尾等重点句型。在学生掌握这个方法后,再让学生读第3,4段,尽快找出中心思想,很多同学提高了速度,获得成就感。
活动3【活动】guessing
1.first make students relaxed according to a guessing game: ask students to guess the meanings of the words according to the words in the sentences and perform for other students.
2.ask students to think and make a conclusion how to guess the meanings of the words and master some methods.
3.ask students to guess the meanings of new words in the passage according to the context.
(通过一个猜词的游戏让学生去思考和总结猜词义的方法。在学生掌握一定的方法后让学生去猜单词的意义根据情境,让学生解释是如何猜出词义并总结猜词义的方法,比如说通过同义词猜单词,通过因果关系猜单词等等。)
活动4【活动】consolidate
ask students to find the main idea of the passage about Langlang quickly and guess the meanings of the new words in the passage.
(练习巩固学生前面学到的方法,给学生展示一篇关于朗朗在父母的严格要求下练琴,最后成才的文章,让学生快速找到文章的中心思想,并根据情境猜生词的意义)
活动5【活动】answer the questions
1.ask students to find the four answers in the passage: why do parents push the kids so hard?
2.ask students to make in pairs to discuss if you were a parent,would you push kids so hard?
3.after a student present his or her opinion,ask any other students" Do you want to have this kind of parents and why do you think so"
(让学生到原文中去找问题的答案,进一步理解文章,然后让学生站在父母的角度去考虑问题,两人一组对话,加入你是父母,会让孩子补课吗?为什么?孩子展示自己的观点后,问任何一个别的孩子是否喜欢这种类型的父母,为什么?这样既可以检查学生是否认真听课,也可以达到一种交流的目的)
活动6【导入】group work
1.ask students to find the opinions in the passage and complete the chart
2.discuss in a group and talk about your own opinions.
3.after the student present his or her opinions,ask any other students“Do you agree with me and why do you think so?"
(让学生到文章中找到不同人对课后补习的看法完成表格,然后四人一组讨论自己的观点,一组一组在陈述观点的时候问其他同学是否同意自己的观点,为什么?这样既可以提高听课效率,提高参与率,达到交流的作用。)
活动7【作业】homework
write a composition about after-school classes.
