【学习目标】
1. 掌握并运用以下词汇及短语:
climber, be used to, take risks, accident, situation, kilo, rock, run out, knife, cut off, blood, mean, get out of, importance, decision, be in control of, spirit, death, give up 2. 阅读训练:阅读文章并回答问题来理解文章大意。 3 学习阅读策略:
学习根据时间顺序理解文章大意的学习策略。
4.通过阅读材料培养学生在学习和生活中遇到困难时不轻言放弃的精神。 【教学过程】 I.Warming up:
Watch a movie called “127 hours”
Then teacher asks some questions about the movie.
T: Do you like this movie? What’s your feeling after watching it? This is the main character of this movie. Have you got his name? (设计意图:通过电影的真实再现,激发学生的阅读兴趣,激活学生的阅读思维,有利于学生的下一步的快乐阅读、高效阅读。) II. Learning aims
设计意图:通过学生的领读和阅读,明确本节课的学习目标,并熟悉本节课的所用单词。
III. Presentation Before Reading 1. Prepare to read
Look at the words and expressions in the list. Have a discussion. Write the number(s) next to each word to show what you know. Share what you know with others. 1. I know how to pronounce the word. 2. I know one meaning of the word.
3. I know more than one meaning of the word. 4. I can use the word in a sentence.
5. I know some phrases about the words.

设计意图:在进入阅读之前,扫清阅读的单词障碍,同时起到了检查学生预习情况的作用。这样的方式,可以督促学生自我学习。
2.Prediction:观察呈现的图片和2b 标题,预测短文主题信息。 (设计意图:展示故事主人公的两幅图片,让学生根据文章图片和题目预测主题信息,激起学生阅读的欲望,为下一步的阅读活动做好了信息铺垫) While reading
3.Skimming:Match the paragraphs with the each main idea

Paragraph.1 A. On that day, Aron’s arm was caught under a 360-kilo rock, he cut
off his arm and climbed down to find help.
Paragraph.2 B. After losing his arm, he wrote a book and kept on climbing
mountains.
Paragraph.3 C. Aron is interested in mountain climbing, on April 26,2003, he
found himself in a very dangerous situation.

1. Aron’s arm was caught under the rock.
2. After that, he climbed down the mountain for help.
3. So he used a knife to cut off half his right arm.He couldn’t free his arm so he just stayed there .

6. Then he bandaged himself with his left arm.
7. On that day, a 360-kilo rock fell on Aron when he was climbing. 8. Five days later, his water ran out. Answer: 7-1-4-8-5-3-6-2

Read the passage again and finish the details.
Who: Who lost his arm? When: When did it happen? Where: Where did it happen? How: How did Aron lose his arm?
What: What did he do after losing his arm? Why: Why is he still climbing? (设计意图:指导学生利用略读的策略在文章中提取有用信息的能力,达成学会运用阅读策略、训练学生阅读技能的教学目标) 7. Groupwork
Finish the mind map with your parteners.
