The teacher's activities
Step1 Check the words
Let the students read the words twice.
Show the pictures and let the students say the words.
Step 2 Presentation
Show a beautiful song called Yesterday once more to the students. Ask What do you think of after listening to the song.
Step 3 Reading
Before reading
Show three pictures about Betty, Quincy and Betty’s house.
Fast reading
Listen and choose the correct answers.
Read the passage fast to find out the main ideas for each paragraph.
Careful reading
Give the students some time to read the paragraph in groups
Teach the sentences with “with”.
After reading
Read the passage and fill in the blanks.
Step 4 Writing
My past life
Show the students how to write.
Homework
Write a passage about your past life (your hometown, your primary school life…).

The students' activities
Two students lead to read as fast as possible.
The students say the words as soon as possible.
Listen and say their first primary school, first teachers and first friends.
Look at the picture and know about Betty, Quincy and label the words and pictures.
Listen and choose.
Read as soon as possible and find out the main ideas.
Follow the teacher to finish the questions in pairs.
Join the sentences with “with”.
